Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Ingredients
2/3 cups shortening
2/3 cups butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
12 oz chocolate chips
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Preheat oven to 350˚F.

In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients together, except chips. In a separate bowl, mix all wet ingredients together. Add wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.

Spoon onto a backing sheet (with Silpa mat). Bake at 8-10 minutes.

Alternative recipe for softer cookie:
1 cup butter, softened
1/3 shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 egg
2 tsp vanilla

1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cornstarch
3 cups flour

12 oz chocolate chips
